Seth Rollins On CM Punk: I’ve Exhausted All My Energy, I Don’t Think It’s Going Anywhere
After weeks of calling out CM Punk for a fight, Seth Rollins appears ready to let things go.
The moment Punk returned on the Nov. 12 WWE Backstage, Rollins challenged Punk on Twitter. Punk brushed off the former WWE Universal Champion, telling him to delete Twitter and look for relevancy elsewhere. Rollins has continued to discuss Punk in interviews, even addressing “CM Punk” chants on WWE Raw. Appearing on Tuesday’s WWE Backstage, which Punk was absent from, Rollins was immediately asked about the Chicago native.
“I’m here, he’s not here. I’m not shocked about that. I think I’ve exhausted all my energy on the subject. I don’t think it’s going anywhere. I think it’s time to maybe move on to something that matters. I wish he was here, I wish we could have a face-to-face. But it’s not in the cards,” he said.
Though Punk was not at Tuesday’s WWE Backstage, he did work in a friendly jab at Rollins through social media. It was reported on WWE Backstage that John Morrison would be returning to WWE. Morrison took to Twitter to comment, saying he couldn’t wait to work with the most talented people in the business.

Ospreay and Punk famously got into a social media beef during the spring over who the best wrestler in the world is, with both men claiming the crown. Rollins even referenced Ospreay during his appearance on WWE Backstage, believing the exchange played a part in fans turning on him.
“[Hell in a Cell] was a tipping point,” said Rollins when asked about cheers turning into boos. “The Sacramento crowd, they were unhappy. They didn’t like what was going on. And I was the guy to eat the brunt of that. I’m the guy that’s gotta sit out there, having to deal with those chants. It goes viral, people see it, and it comes back on me. It started there, but I had a Twitter exchange with Will Ospreay that turned people the wrong way. I don’t know if there’s one thing you can point to.”
Rollins went on to joke that Ospreay made the most of the situation by creating merchandise, which Rollins did not see a cut of.
As for CM Punk, he is set to return to WWE Backstage next Tuesday.
