Seth Rollins Beats Shinsuke Nakamura In Front Of Keiji Muto (Great Muta) At WWE Payback
Seth Rollins survives Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Payback.
Seth Rollins retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Payback, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event.
The finish saw Rollins hit the stomp for the victory.
As expected, Nakamura targeted the injured back of Rollins, but it wasn’t enough to lead Nakamura to his first world title in WWE. Rollins was able to overcome everything Nakamura threw at him, including a top rope landslide and a Kinshasa.

This marked the fifth successful title defense for Rollins. He won the vacant title in a tournament final against AJ Styles at WWE Night of Champions.
Nakamura was given a title shot by Rollins on the August 14 episode episode of WWE Raw, one week after Nakamura attacked Rollins. Nakamura whispered in Rollins’ ear on that night, giving Seth a concerning look. It was later revealed that Nakamura said he knew about Seth’s back, giving him a target for their bout at WWE Payback.
