Sean Waltman Hopes Chyna Is Honored At DX Anniversary On WWE Raw, Doesn’t Want To Bury Young Talent
WWE will celebrated 25 years of D-Generation X on Monday’s WWE Raw with a reunion featuring Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, and Sean Waltman.
Triple H, Michaels, and Road Dogg remain involved in WWE with Triple H leading WWE creative, Michaels leading NXT creative, and Dogg producing. Waltman (X-Pac) has remained close with the group despite not working for the company.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Waltman was asked how everyone is doing in the group after they “ran hard” during the Attitude Era with their antics.
“The only person that’s not with us obviously is Joanie (Laurer) [Chyna]. I hope that tonight, we don’t forget to honor her or we don’t just brush past that. As far as the rest of us go, everyone is in a really good place right now. I’m pretty grateful for that,” he said.
Chyna was one of the original members of DX with Michaels and Triple H. She remained with the group as Michaels left and Waltman, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn were brought in. Chyna passed away in April 2016. She was inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the group in 2019.
Billy Gunn is not advertised for the DX Anniversary. He currently works for AEW.
When asked if he knew of anything that was planned for the anniversary, Waltman said, “I was joking with somebody earlier about us going out there and burying some of the younger talent like my friends and I have done in the past when they’ve had us come on. I hope that doesn’t happen. Let’s please not do that. I just want to have some fun. Maybe do something to uplift some of the talent that is there.”
Waltman was part of Raw 25 show where DX and The Kliq (Scott Hall & Kevin Nash) laid out FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler, The Revival in WWE) and shared a “too sweet” with Finn Balor and the Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson).
Harwood previously commented that Waltman was kind to them backstage while the others were less receptive.
