Opening segment
- AJ Styles is bringing back the United States Championship open challenge.
- Kevin Owens answers it. I never thought I'd be disappointed to say that.
- Owens says a McMahon screwed another legendary Canadian. Well played.
- Shane is making the match for tonight, but Owens demands he picks the ref. Ah boy.
Backstage crappenings
- Daniel Bryan isn't happy with Jinder Mahal. Tonight the Singh Bros. face Nakamura. Sweet!
- Kevin Owens wants Sami Zayn to be the special ref. He drops a funny line saying he knows Sami isn't busy tonight. Zayn later turns him down. Breezango offers their services, and Owens goes off. Baron Corbin wants it, but wants a title shot if Owens wins.
- Backstage, Chad Gable is talking to Daniel Bryan. Bryan reveals that in exchange for sending Jason Jordan to Raw, Angle helped him sign Shelton Benjamin. Great continuity.
- Dolph Ziggler is back and cuts a promo about all the gimmicks on Smackdown Live.
- Lana is trying to motivate Tamina and it's hilariously bad.
Bobby Roode defeated Aiden English
5/10
- Bobby Roode as a babyface, and it's going to work very, very well by the looks of it.
- I'm all for this. The way that Roode was working before was a crowd killer after the entrance. This isn't.
- Glorious DDT! I'm a fan of anyone using the Impaler.
- Very optimistic about Roode as a babyface.
Usos defeated Hype Bros
4.5/10
- Hey, Hype Bros are alive.
- Paint by numbers outside of the teams working out of opposite face/heel corners.
- Mojo Rawley runs through an Uso, but Zack gets superkicked and pinned.
- Usos cut a nice promo on the tag division.
- Was told there were three beach balls during the tag team match.
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Singh Bros. (w/ Jinder Mahal)
- I never would have thought one year ago I'd be a fan of the Bollywood Boyz. Give the bros some gear though.
- They get their asses kicked REAL PROPER.
- Jinder tries to attack and eats a knee to the grill.
Becky Lynch & Naomi defeated Carmella & Natalya (w/ James Ellsworth)
4.75/10
- Natalya cuts a really bad promo, and even drops "glow" twice.
- Carmella's gear. Carmella's ring gear is the biggest news story of Smackdown.
- This isn't bad. Carmella teases not wanting to tag in, and hopes Natalya gets beat up.
- Naomi transitions from a sunset flip into her submission. She ends up getting Carmella with a split legged moonsault.
- I like the heel-on-heel action.
Special guest referee Baron Corbin
United States Championship
AJ Styles (c) defeated Kevin Owens
5.5/10
- AJ Styles' sliding forearm is a nice move.
- Baron Corbin is a pretty good ref.
- He stops a Calf Crusher because Owens had the ropes.
- Corbin points at his WWE logo a lot.
- Shane McMahon stops a Baron Corbin count, and Corbin hands over the ref shirt.
- Styles gets the win. Great crowd reaction
