Sean Ross Sappdown Live (8/15): CASH IN!, The Last Fashion Peaks, Match Ratings, More
Jinder Mahal
- Ahh. "You people." Original.
- He brings out people to dance and celebrate. Also an old lady to sing India's national anthem.
- She gets booed.
- Timely, WWE.
- This was absolute lowest common denominator garbage.
Natalya defeated Becky Lynch
3.25/10
- Naomi is out for commentary.
- During the commercial, Natalya treats the match like a commercial.
- Natalya wins. Naomi says she'll win Sunday because "she has the glow."
- I don't know what that means.
- Carmellsworth come out and tease a Summerslam cash-in. They might need it. The women's division is flat and generic right now.
Backstage crappenings
- Tamina re-asks a question. THEY DON'T FEAR ME? Lana is going to coach her to a title shot.
- I really enjoy Daniel Bryan and the Usos friendship, instead of WWE ignoring what we saw from them on Talking Smack.
- Fashion Peaks ended, and I guess Breezango are back in two weeks.
Rusev and Chad Gable go to a double countout
- Rusev beats up Gable and they get counted out.
- Rusev clears off the table and moves the monitors to…………put Gable in the Accolade on top of it? This has been a weird show.
- Orton shows up and hits an RKO mid-Rusev promo.
AJ's apology
- Shane McMahon tells AJ Styles there's no reason to apologize.
- There's a lot of passive aggressive dialogue as Kevin Owens comes out and kisses Shanes' ass.
- This is all good, Shane has become much more comfortable on the mic.
- Shane says he won't hesitate to defend himself at Summerslam, and urges AJ and KO to shake hands.
- KO ends up accidentally kicking Shane, after McMahon blocked an errant Styles punch.
- Really enjoyable.
Usos defeated New Day (w/ Big E)
5.25/10
- Kofi and Xavier were referred to as the "speed team" of New Day.
- Their offense was quick and often, which unleashed rapid "OH!" shots from Phillips.
- Usos do so well at making you like them outside the ring, but making you hate them inside it.
- They go low on Kofi and get the win. They'll be facing Xavier and Big E at Summerslam
John Cena defeated Jinder Mahal via DQ
5/10
- The commentary team was told to say "one of the biggest matches in Smackdown history."
- The beginning of Cena-Mahal — a test of strength — is a Vince wet dream.
- Samir drops Cena with a punch. Another dove cries.
- If I'm a WWE wrestler, I have the "don't throw wild looping punches" at Cena think scouted.
- The Singh brothers are caught grabbing Cena and are ejected.
- Jinder Mahal kicks out of the AA. Cena hits a super AA, but Corbin interferes and attacks Cena.
- Corbin is cashing in!!!
WWE Championship Match
Jinder Mahal (c) defeated Baron Corbin
- Corbin is distracted and Mahal rolls up Corbin
- Jinder Mahal's win over Baron Corbin took 5.74 seconds.
