Rating guide
10- Perfect, 9- Excellent, 8- Great, 7- Good, 6- Above Average, 4-5- Average, 3 or below: Poor
Opening Segment
- Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers cut a promo and explain the Pubjabi Prison. It's lame, but it had to happen.
- Randy Orton says he has nothing to lose, and that Mahal LEFT HIM FOR DEAD. A good promo from Orton
Jimmy Uso (w/ Jey Uso) defeated Kofi Kingston (w/ New Day)
6/10
- Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso treated it like it was a special match, and you could see it in their work.
- Kofi has improved his flying stomp, and Jimmy landed the old Oklahoma Stampede, which translates well to 2017.
- I loved this match. A perfect fit for Smackdown to bridge the gap to the PPV.
Backstage Crappenings
- These women's division promos are bad. Everyone is arguing over who gets to fight Lana. The Charlotte/Becky interaction was good though.
- Shout outs to DirecTV for having me miss AJ Styles, Nakamura and Naomi promos.
- Fashion Files! The horsey is ravaged, and a note is found saying "Battleground!" Who could it be!?
Mike Kanellis (w/ Maria Kanellis) defeated Sami Zayn
4.25/10
- WWE does this thing where JBL and Byron Saxton try to argue the babyface and heel points and it just makes me hate everyone.
- An aggressive Zayn fits since Kanellis is the "lover." Eventually they'll establish a mean streak from Kanellis.
- Maria is in the ring. Somehow this is allowed. Kanellis wins with a Samoan Driver.
CENA IS AMERICAN
- We get a nice, American as hell promo from John Cena. America. American.
- Rusev attacks, applies his finish, and grabs his flag.
- They can do better for these two.
Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte
6.75/10
- Charlotte wrestles too much like a heel for me to get past. Wonder where she picked that up from.
- Becky and Charlotte work really smooth together.
- Charlotte uses a Widows Peak variation during the commercial break. It looks awesome.
- Equally awesome was a kneedrop to the back of the head of Becky while Becky is on all fours.
- Naomi is watching TV sideways.
- So much of Lynch's offense seems like it hurts her more than her opponent.
- Natural Selection – Disarmher – big boot sequence was money.
- Becky gets the submission. This match is worth a watch.
- The heels hit the ring, but Tamina ends up kicking the shit out of Natalya. Really stiff kick.
Baron Corbin & Kevin Owens defeated Nakamura & AJ Styles
6.75/10
- Corbin tries to attack Nakamura, but he just ain't slick enough. This is a creative way to cut two entrances.
- This is the most Nakamura we've seen out of Shinsuke on Smackdown so far, and it seems like Corbin is bringing it out of him.
- Corbin stops Styles mid-slingshot with a nice punch.
- There's a lot of good wrestling on tonight's show.
- An awesome ending sequence gets a win for the heels. Virtually everything in the ring was good tonight. I want to see these two teams together again.
