Scott Garland (Scotty 2 Hotty) Requests His Release From WWE
Scotty 2 Hotty, who has been working in NXT as one of the coaches, has requested his release from WWE.
WWE is in a current state of change as many Superstars continue to be released from their contracts, regardless of their position on the card, and the NXT developmental brand continues to undergo an overhaul from the brand that had existed as a top alternative for the majority of the last decade.
One of the current coaches in NXT is Scott Garland, better known as Scotty 2 Hotty. Scotty has been named by Raquel Gonzalez as one of the coaches that helped her grow into the Superstar that she has become and in a new Instagram post, Scotty says that while he will always cherish the memories of the black and gold brand, he doesn’t want to solely take a paycheck and feels that it is best if he is released from WWE.
I have asked for my release from World Wrestling Entertainment. 30 years ago I stepped into a WWE ring for the very first time. I have lived my dream 100 times over. Some of my most special memories will always be from the last five years working with NXT. The black and gold brand was something special and I am proud to have been a small part of that. I always promised myself that I would never be part of something solely for the paycheck and that was where I was at. I told myself that I would walk away if I ever got to that point, so that is what I have chosen to do.
Coaching and producing the stars of NXT will always be a highlight of my life. I love you all more than you will ever know. —-
During his wrestling career, Scotty became WWE Light Heavyweight Champion as well as a WWE Tag Team Champion with Brian Christopher and Rikishi respectively.
Fightful will continue to monitor this story and report any confirmation of the release.
