Scott D’Amore Wants A Partner Who Can Come Back To Life, Athena Wins Again | IMPACT x ROH Recap

Here is your fight size update following IMPACT and ROH Wrestling on Thursday, July 13, 2023. 

Below are highlights from both Thursday night wrestling shows.

IMPACT Wrestling  

– The July 13 episode of IMPACT ended on quite a cliffhanger as Scott D’Amore was seen on the phone asking if someone can “come back to life” in place of PCO in Scott’s upcoming tag team match against Bully Ray and Deaner at Slammiversary.

– Also, Deonna Purrazzo successfully defended her IMPACT Knockouts gold against Jody Threat. After her defense, she and Trinity got physical in a preview of their match on this Saturday.

– Angels, no longer a member of The Design, is ready to become his own man.

– Mike Bailey picked up a victory tonight and singles action over Kevin Knight. Both men will be in the Ultimate X match on Saturday, along with Angels.

– Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly are united by purpose as they compete for the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles at Slammiversary against The Coven. A video package highlighted their union on the most recent IMPACT.

– Joe Hendry & Yuya Uemura defeated Kenny King & Sheldon Jean as King had flashbacks to his Chippendales days.

– Lio Rush is vying for the prestigious X-Division Championship in IMPACT Wrestling. He’ll have the chance to win the gold when he takes on Chris Sabin at Slammiversary.

– This Saturday at Slammiversary, SUBCULTURE promises to become the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions, not just for them but “every SUBCULTURE out there.”

– Learn more about Alex Shelley before he defends the IMPACT World Title against Nick Aldis this Saturday at Slammiversary.

– After Zachary Wentz cheated to defeat Chris Bey, Director of Authority Santino Marella denies the Rascalz an IMPACT World Tag Team Title opportunity.

Ring of Honor 

– Athena turned back yet another challenger in another Proving Ground Match. This time, she defeated Ava Lawless.

– On July 13, an Eliminator Tournament for a shot at Ring of Honor World Television Champion Samoa Joe started with Dalton Castle defeating Tony Nese and Shane Taylor defeating Shawn Dean. The winner of next week’s tournament finals between Dalton and Shane will face Samoa Joe for the ROH TV Title at ROH Death Before Dishonor.

– In another women’s match, Leyla Hirsch defeated Bambi Hall. 

– The Righteous and Stu Grayson defeated Michael Allen Richard Clark, Levi Knight, and Evan Rivers. During the match, Evil Uno showed up and sat in a steel chair at ringside. Michael Allen is triple-teamed by The Righteous and Stu Grayson. Dutch pinned him to score the team’s victory. After the match, Evil Uno assaults Clark with a chair and tells Grayson he knows where he belongs.

– The Mogul Embassy’s Brian Cage, Kaun, and Toa Liona retained the Ring of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Titles by defeating Matt Sydal, Christopher Daniels, and Darius Martin.
