Scott D’Amore Comments On IMPACT’s Ability To Get The Most Out Of Veteran Talents
Scott D’Amore is proud of the way IMPACT Wrestling has not only developed young talent but gotten more out of seasoned veterans than other promotions.
Speaking with the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, the Co-Executive Vice President of IMPACT Wrestling spoke about the company’s willingness to work with other promotions, get the most out of every talent, and prove to people that IMPACT is a destination worth seeking out because you know you will be treated and utilized properly.
D’Amore used Brian Myers and John Morrison as examples to help illustrate his point. He said the following:
“I also think when you look at some of the talent that’s been around for years, like, respectfully, a guy like Johnny Impact – John Morrison – who’s been around for years, but I think we were able to get a little more out of him than you saw from him in other places. You’re seeing that now with a guy like Brian Myers. Brian Myers is a seasoned, polished pro. But we’re working with him both directly — and part of it is just giving him the opportunity, saying, ‘It’s okay to try stuff. It’s okay to do something different.’ You know, here, talk, do these things, try. If it doesn’t work we’ll do it again. Working with and collaborating with talent like that in an open forum allows somebody like that who’s already been on some of the biggest stages in the industry, in the world, allows him to find a whole new dimension to his game. So, I think that’s one of our strengths and one of the things that I’m proudest about, about what we’ve been doing.”
In recent weeks, Brian Myers has been feuding with his longtime friend, Matt Cardona. Although Myers emerged victoriously at Rebellion, it was Cardona who won their last encounter, qualifying for the No. 1 Contenders Match at Under Siege on May 15.
John Morrison can be seen on WWE Raw, partnering with The Miz. His last match was on May 3rd, losing to Damian Priest.
