Sasha Banks Discusses How Much WWE Encourages Performers To Stay In Character On Social Media
The majority of WWE superstars have a branded social media account and are encouraged to use the account.
Some remain in character when tweeting or posting photos while others drop the character or blur the two.
Speaking on the Normal Not Normal podcast, Sasha Banks was asked how much influence WWE has on how talent uses their social media accounts.
“When you get into WWE, you’re so excited and so excited to play a character because it is a place where you play a role almost 24/7. Even our Instagram and Twitter our are character names but we are the ones playing this role and we’re real humans too. I don’t think it’s encouraged, but sometimes they’ll let us know like ‘can you send out this tweet to promote this storyline.’ A lot of times, you’re seeing more of who we really are on our off days thanks to social media. You get to know about us in both worlds,” said Sasha.
Elsewhere during the interview, Banks discussed Vince McMahon changing the script on a whim. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
