Sasha Banks And Charlotte Main Eventing Hell In A Cell
Charlotte and Sasha Banks are making history at Hell in a Cell in more ways than one, according to RAW GM Mick Foley.
Aside from the two women being the first females to compete in a Hell in a Cell match, the match will also main event the pay-per-view, marking the first time a women's match closes a WWE main roster pay-per-view. The match also will be for Banks' WWE Women's Championship.
Foley, whose career is highlighted by his legendary Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker in 1998, wrote the following post on Facebook.
CHILLS
Forget for a moment about Stephanie McMahon's jumping high-five or my awkward attempt to hug the #RAW Comissioner. The biggest moment of the night for us came when the #WWE cameras were off, and Stephanie and I just looked at the #HIACposter, realizing that for #WomensWrestling, history is upon us – as Sasha Banks and Charlotte will main event the #HIAC PPV. I am so happy for Sasha, for Charlotte, for all the women who paved the way, and all those who aspire to follow in their footsteps. It is no exaggeration to say that looking at that poster gave me chills…and they were multiplying.
Charlotte and Sasha Banks' rivalry has been the main feud in the women's division throughout 2016, with both women winning the titles off of each other in the past few months.
The two main evented RAW a couple of weeks ago where Sasha won the WWE Women's Championship. That main event was the first time a women's championship match closed the show since Lita and Trish Stratus did it in 2004.
