Saraya: Sasha Banks Knows Her Worth, She’s A Girl That Puts Butts In Seats

Saraya has praise for Sasha Banks (Mercedes Varnado). 

In May 2022, Sasha Banks & Naomi walked out of WWE during the May 16 episode of WWE Raw. Banks & Naomi were the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time, and reportedly met with Vince McMahon ahead of Raw to discuss the creative direction. 

Neither woman has returned to the company, though Banks is once again making waves in the wrestling world as she will reportedly be appearing at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 in some capacity. 

Speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Saraya praised Banks for knowing her worth in walking out. 

“I love the fact that she took her career into her own hands, and she knows her worth and she knows she wants to be treated a certain way, and she deserves to be treated that way because she’s done a lot for the wrestling business. She’s one of the girls that puts butts in seats, and you want to see wrestle and you wanna see main event. She deserves all those things. Wherever she ends up, I’m gonna be happy for her, and anyone that gets her is gonna be very, very lucky. I just selfishly hope that I get to wrestle her one day. I don’t know if she’d want to because she’d probably be scared to wrestle me again,” she said was a laugh. 

Banks was a participant in Saraya’s final WWE match in December 2017. It was a kick from Banks that re-injured Saraya’s neck and forced her to retire at the time. Saraya has stated many times that she holds no ill will towards Banks, knowing the kick was an accident, and that Banks was the first person she texted when she got cleared in 2022. 

Saraya is set to team with a mystery partner against Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter on the January 11 episode of AEW Dynamite. She recently commented on the speculation that Banks would be her partner. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
