Santos Escobar is a man of his word.
On the November 10 episode of WWE SmackDown, Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio and took him out with a vicious attack. Escobar commented on his actions on the November 17 episode. He went on to deliver a heated message, as he said that he hoped Mysterio had to get his leg amputated after hhe had surgery. Escobar also stated that he hoped Mysterio never came back. Zelina Vega came out and slapped Escobar. Santos subsequently attacked Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro, his former stablemates.
In a SmackDown Exclusive, Escobar was asked whether he meant what he said about Mysterio.
“I’m a grown man. I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. What I said was that I hope he never comes back. How would you feel if your mentor, the person you respect the most, betrayed you and chose someone like Carlito? How would you feel about that?” Escobar said.
When asked whether his words and his actions stemmed from feeling hurt or mad, Escobar stated that he was disappointed in the fans and his former stablemates. He noted that he was betrayed by his own family, and now he is on his own.
“I’m not angry. I’m disappointed. I’m disappointed in every single lesson in this arena and at home. Did you hear that? They have the nerve to boo me. Boo me? I was betrayed by all of them. I thought I had a family. Family’s everything to me. I thought I had a family. They’re gone. I’m by myself right from now on,” Escobar said.
Zelina Vega slapping Escobar came up in the conversation, and he stated that while she was lucky enough to hang with him for a while, they are done now. When he was informed about his match against Carlito at WWE Survivor Series, Escobar made it clear that he was looking forward to it.
“I can’t wait. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while. But I have news for you. Good luck having Carlito on time. Make sure he know what day it is,” Escobar said.
