Samoa Joe Says That He Has Been “Dying To Get Back In The Ring”, Talks The ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’ Event, And More

Joe is looking forward to April 27th.

Former two-time NXT Champion Samoa Joe recently made his return to in-ring competition this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live as he was moved to the blue-brand as a part of the 'Superstar Shake-Up'. Joe was out of commission since early January due to a right foot injury and now, a week after being cleared he already has an opportunity to capture championship gold as he will partake in a Ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' along with champion Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and The Miz

For Samoa Joe he is soaking it all in as he spoke with the Saudi Gazette about heading to Saudi Arabia for this massive event.

“The Greatest Royal Rumble is going to be an historic night in Saudi Arabia and I am very excited to be part of it. I’m beyond excited. First and foremost we get to go and experience new cultures, see them first-hand and up close and coming to Saudi Arabia is a big opportunity for me. I’m very interested to be there, to meet the fans and to see how strong the WWE Universe is there." Joe stated.

As mentioned, Joe has been out nursing a right foot injury and recently returned to in-ring competition. "The Destroyer" stated that he has been "dying to get back in the ring" and return to what he has been doing for the past 18 years.

“I’m dying to get back in the ring as I’ve been nursing an injury. So to be in Saudi Arabia and to be able to get all of those months of frustration out, well I’ll definitely be ready to go. It’s a return to the ring for me and it’s a debut for me in a new culture, so that’s two factors that mean I’m looking forward to it.”

Joe also shared his past experiences in the Middle East, further dove into his excitement about traveling to Saudi Arabia, and more. To read the remainder of Samoa Joe's comments, click here.
