Samoa Joe Released By WWE
Samoa Joe has been cut by WWE.
Samoa Joe has been let go by WWE as of Thursday, April 15, 2021.
Joe entered WWE in 2015 as part of NXT and transitioned to Raw in 2015. In recent months, Joe recently transitioned over to Monday Night Raw commentary and even called the most recent WrestleMania event before being transitioned out of the role on Monday night.
In recent years, Joe had captured the WWE United States Championship as well as the NXT Championship but had openly stated he wanted to be a WWE Champion.
“(Those titles) are a calling card for a legacy. It’s something that’s sought after,” Joe said in an interview with UPROXX. “It’s based on perseverance and time. I’ve existed in a career wrought with doubt by others. I’ve learned to shut it out and never listened to it because honestly, I never had to accept those results and we found a way to get it done. So we’re just working on that right now. Just being strategic about it.”
Joe also has a history in TNA, ROH, and Japan. If you use any of the quotes above, please give a h/t and link back to Fightful for the transcription.
