Sami Zayn: “I Am Dance”

According to Sami Zayn, dancing can’t really be taught.

On the April 23 episode of WWE SmackDown, Zayn was ringside for Kevin Owens’ match with Apollo Crews. The Intercontinental Champion successfully retained his title after Commander Azeez hit KO with the Nigerian Nail. Zayn entered the ring after the bell and danced around a downed Owens.

The two Québécois have been at odds recently with Sami trying to prove a conspiracy against him and Owens attempting to stun some sense back into his longtime friend. They fought at WrestleMania 37 where Sami invited Logan Paul to be his special guest. After Zayn lost, however, Paul turned on his host by trying to raise KO’s hand. Things didn’t work out too well though, as he was met with a stunner of his own.

On the latest episode of WWE Talking Smack, Kayla Braxton and Paul Heyman shared their appreciation for Sami’s dancing, to which he replied with the following:

“Here’s the thing about dance – dancers will tell you this – dancing can’t really be taught. You can go to dance school, but really it’s what fuels you. It’s what comes from your soul. The joy that came from my soul when I watched Kevin Owens get hit with that Nigerian Nail — and I honestly think he has a damaged trachea. I honestly think he might. He did not look good. That is the rhythm that fueled my soul. I was so elated.”

After again refusing to show his moves off or teach them, Sami made a bold proclamation. Here is what he said:

“I’m just saying the reason for those dance moves is pure unadulterated joy that comes from deep within. You almost can’t even quantify it. I am dance. I am the spirit of dance.”

Until April 26 at 1 p.m. ET, you can purchase a limited “Sami Dance” t-shirt. 100% of the profits go to SamiForSyria.com and will help fund a mobile clinic that will operate on the ground in Syria and deliver primary medical aid to displaced civilians impacted by the war.
