Sami Callihan Spit Water In Jim Cornette’s Face Because Of Comments Cornette Made About Sonny Kiss

Sami Callihan explains why he spit water in Jim Cornette’s face.

On an edition of the ‘Jim Cornette Experience’ podcast, Cornette reviewed All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing show and clips from the podcast made the rounds on social media that included Cornette making controversial and negative remarks about participants in the Casino Battle Royale, specifically Sonny Kiss. Cornette stated that Kiss appeared as if he just got off his day job at the Tropicana and referred to Sonny as a transvestite. Those remarks were not well received and Sonny Kiss himself responded to Cornette as well.

On a recent episode of MLW Fusion, Sami Callihan took on Mance Warner in a ‘Loser Leaves MLW’ match in-which Callihan lost and he is indeed finished with Major League Wrestling. Callihan jumped on Twitter and shared that he spat on Jim Cornette’s face during the show and Callihan spoke more about the incident when he appeared on the ‘Keepin It 100 With Konnan’ podcast.

“One hundred percent, I don’t like what he said online. He said [during] his podcast when he’s reviewing AEW Double Or Nothing because you know, obviously he has to say something negative about everything. [He] wanted to put over the fact that, ‘Oh, they didn’t even explain what this guy was’. Like first of all, in 2019, we don’t have to explain what someone of homosexuality or anything is because it’s 2019 and everything’s accepted of [those] terms and then he just wanted to call him a transvestite when not even knowing what he was and saying he looks like he just got off from working a day shift at the f*cking Tropicana as a drag queen. I’m like, that’s just ignorant. That’s speaking ignorant.” Callihan explained.

Callihan was asked by Disco Inferno who co-hosts the podcast with Konnan, how is Sonny Kiss supposed to be described or labeled and Sami stated that he can be referred to as a professional male wrestler or homosexual male wrestler if there is an explanation that needs to be elaborated on.

“He is a homosexual male. That’s it, or he’s just a professional wrestler or he’s just a male wrestler.” Callihan said. “I don’t understand why in someone’s head, there has to be some sort of explanation for what this person is. He’s just a person. How hard is it to put that across. Why is that something that you wanna jump down and critique of how a person looks and be like, ‘Oh this needs an explaining. Their fans don’t understand.’ Yes the fans understand because they’ve put over Sonny as the type of character he is on their show which is their Being The Elite which gets more views than some wrestling shows do during the week. So that’s why I don’t understand — well maybe you should follow their product a little bit if you’re gonna be so critical of them.”

Sami Callihan has finished with Major League Wrestling and per PWInsider, Daga has wrapped up with MLW as well and for more on that story, click here.
