RVD Says He Is Not Proud Of Mocking Shawn Michaels’ Lazy Eye During Shoot Interview

Rob Van Dam speaks about his growth.

Rob Van Dam captured his first WWE Championship at ECW One Night Stand in 2006 and he has spoken out in the past about having prior opportunities to become World Champion in WWE but those opportunities were held back from him. RVD has done shoot interviews in-which he has spoken about the likes of Triple H and Shawn Michaels in positive and negative tones.

Former WWE creative writer Bruce Prichard shared on an edition of the Something To Wrestle With podcast that Triple H was vocal to a certain extent about not understanding Rob Van Dam’s character. During a specific shoot interview that RVD did, he mimicked WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels by making fun of Michaels’ detached retina.

RVD recently joined the Apter Chat podcast with Bill Apter and Josh Shernoff and reflected on that shoot interview and stated that he is not super proud of it but he has moved forward and has grown from it.

“No, you know what that is? I was interviewed on a video format like YouTube or whatever and I did this imitation of him along with an unflattering answer too. When I look back at it, it’s not something I’m super proud of because I try to just put positive energy out there but anyway, I’m glad a lot of fans enjoyed it, but what I did was I crossed one eye in the middle because he’s got that eye thing and it got a [big] reaction because you know, here I am making fun of Shawn Michaels — one of the best wrestlers ever in WWE. So it got a lot of reaction but looking back at it that’s really gotta suck and I know what’s like to temporarily have vision altered and it’s not good and when I look at it… I think I’ve had headaches all day. I can’t even imagine one eye looking in but you know, it’s something… that’s what my impression is, and part of always trying to improve and grow and be a better person is you’re always looking back at a lesser version of you. Always. That’s how it has to be.” RVD expressed.

RVD will be in action on WrestleMania weekend at IMPACT Wrestling’s ‘United We Stand’ show where he’ll be teaming with Sabu to take on Pentagon Jr. and Fenix.
