Rusev Calls Cesaro ‘The Greatest Professional Wrestler Ever’ & Reveals His Two Dream Opponents

Rusev has nothing but love for “The Swiss Superman.”

Since being released from WWE in mid-April 2020, Rusev has really become an open book and is very receptive to taking fan questions while streaming on Twitch.

On a recent stream, somebody asked whether or not Rusev feels Cesaro is being underutilized in WWE. His answer, while brief, says everything you need to know about how he feels about Cesaro as a performer.

“Come on, man. What are you asking me?” Rusev began. “I’m not the booker but as I said before, [Cesaro] is the greatest professional wrestler ever. So, I mean, that tells you everything, or I hope it does.”

Elsewhere in the Q&A, Rusev was asked who he would like to wrestle that he’s never gotten the opportunity to before. To answer this question, Rusev stayed true to his wrestling fandom and named Kurt Angle and Hulk Hogan as his two dream opponents.

“I want to wrestle Hogan for sure. I’ve been in the ring with him, but I haven’t wrestled him. But yeah, I want to wrestle Hogan or Kurt Angle,” Rusev revealed. “Kurt Angle, for sure. I love Kurt. Kurt is probably my favorite, you know, him and Hogan, are [number] one and two.”

Rusev continued, “But work-wise, I would definitely take… I don’t know, man, it’s really hard. That’s what I’m saying. Well, I’ll say Hogan because Hogan was always number one to me. Kurt eventually became number one, but Hogan was just the reason why I’m freaking here.”

Rusev was fortunate enough to be a part of Team Hogan at WWE Crown Jewel 2019. In a celebration after their victory, Rusev was able to pose with his hero, allowing him to live part of his dream.
