Roxanne Perez: Losing The NXT Women’s Championship Triggered The Aggressive Side Of My Character

Roxanne Perez says that losing the NXT Women’s Championship triggered a different side of her character.

In recent months, Roxanne Perez has leaned into the aggressive side of her character in NXT. Perez has mainly been involved in a heated feud with Blair Davenport since losing the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver back in April.

In a new interview with the Sports Guys Talk Wrestling podcast, Perez talked about how losing the NXT Women’s title helped her trigger a more aggressive side of her character and how that’s going to backfire on Blair Davenport at NXT Great American Bash.

“When I first got here, I was just very happy to be here. I knew who I was on the independent scene, but I was really trying to find who I was in the WWE. I think that I realized that people think I’m an easy target, regardless of the things that I’ve been able to accomplish. So I think finding that aggression in me, and I think losing the NXT Women’s Championship really triggered that aggression. The fact that Blair Davenport keeps poking at me, thinking I’m not going to retaliate, thinking I’m just this nice little girl, well something is coming for her this Sunday.”

In a separate recent interview, Perez talked about her recent depression and anxiety story and how it was real. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
