Ronda Rousey Would Love To Face Rhea Ripley, Hopes Charlotte Picks Ripley For WrestleMania 36
Should Ronda Rousey return to a WWE ring, she has an opponent in mind.
Speaking to Corey Graves on WWE After The Bell, Rousey revealed that she’s a big fan of the NXT product, which is where her Four Horsewomen (Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir) friends reside. When asked who stands out to her, Rousey named the reigning NXT Champion.
“Rhea Ripley,” she said. “She is doing amazing. I’d love to have a match with her someday. She matches up with everybody so differently and there’s so many things she can pull out of people that they can’t do with anybody else. I’m really looking forward to seeing if we ever get that opportunity. I’d love to get in the ring with her. She’s fantastic.”
Ripley captured the NXT Championship by defeating Baszler. She is scheduled to defend the title against Bianca Belair at NXT TakeOver: Portland. And should she get past Belair, Rousey would like to see her in a big match at WrestleMania.
“I really hope that Charlotte picks Rhea Ripley. Charlotte and Becky have great matches, but they’d had so many of them that it’s time to get some new girls in the situation. It’s such a unique matchup that they need to put on a WrestleMania-level show. It’s been NXT’s year and it’s time for them to be picked by a Royal Rumble winner,” she stated.
Charlotte has yet to make her choice for WrestleMania 36 following her Women’s Royal Rumble victory.
