Ronda Rousey Opens Up About Fans Influencing Her Decision To Leave WWE: “F–k These Fans”
Ronda Rousey has nothing but love and respect for professional wrestlers and for the professional wrestling industry, but she’s not biting her tongue when it comes to her opinion on professional wrestling fans.
Ronda Rousey spoke with Steve-O on his show, Wild Ride, to say that it Was ultimately a combination of the schedule and what she felt was a lack of appreciation for the fans that it will keep her away from working a full-time WWE schedule.
“I love WWE. I had such a great time. I love all the girls in the locker room. Hell yeah, running out there and having fake fights for fun is just the best thing. I love choreography. I love acting. I love theater and that’s one of the last forms of live theater and it was so much fun,” Rousey admitted. “But, I was doing it only part-time and I was away from home 200 days a year. When I did get home, I was so sleep-deprived because you just don’t have time to lay down.”
Rousey would go on to explain that she has health issues and as such needed to be lying down as much as possible. She would go so far as to say she wasn’t even home when she was home she would just recover enough to get through the next loop. As she continued, she would have very intense words for wrestling fans.
“We didn’t need the money. So, it was like, what am I doing it for if I’m not even able to spend my time and my energy on my family, but instead spending my time and my energy on a bunch of fucking ungrateful fans that don’t even appreciate me? I love performing. I love the girls. I love being out there, but, at the end of the day, I was just like, ‘Fuck these fans, dude.’ My family loves me and they appreciate me and I want all my energy to go into them.”
Later in the interview, Ronda would say that because she loves performing, she would come back on a short stint basis. Read more at this link.
