Roman Reigns Debuts New Theme Song On April 30 WWE SmackDown

A soundtrack befitting a chief.

Roman Reigns debuted in WWE nearly a decade ago and has been using a variant of the same theme song since day one. When The Shield, the table of Roman, Seth Rollins, and Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose) separated seven years ago, Roman continued using the same elements of the character from The Shield including the vest and entrance theme.

When Roman finally turned heel at SummerSlam in 2020, many began to wonder if he would be using a new theme song soon. Roman had stated in the past that it was being worked on but it wouldn’t happen overnight.

“We’re working on it. It’s not easy because I’m not going to… With this character, it has to be the right vibe. We can’t just hire a rapper and check out this guitar riff. It can’t be some rock music. The Shield music, I wasn’t even really into it back in the day; but over the years, it just started working. You get so used to it that I just time my pace to it. But yeah, it takes some time and it has to be right. In order to move away from something you’ve had for so long and is so recognizable like the music that I have now, it’s got to be perfect. It’s taking some time, but we’re definitely working on it, so please be patient,” he said in January.

Now, on April 30, 2021, before his main event match against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Universal Championship on Friday Night SmackDown, Roman Reigns finally debuted the new theme song.

With this new theme, Roman Reigns is truly a new man, separated from the babyface that he was for nearly a decade following the split of his debut faction.
