ROH COO Joe Koff Comments On ROH TV Viewership, Moving To A Single Night For TV
Ring of Honor has a television home on Sinclair, though fans have to check local listings to see when the show airs in their area. Fans can also enjoy ROH’s weekly television offering through Fite TV and ROH’s website.
While there are no shortage of destinations to check out ROH television, lacking a single time slot has often confused fans as to when they can view the product.
Speaking on the ROH Strong podcast, ROH COO Joe Koff revealed that ROH was in talks to have a single destination night pre-COVID before that ultimately fell through.
“We have tremendous support from our own company because we believe that the more people that can see it, the more people will enjoy it. Yes, we are a little bit challenged by the fact that we don’t have a single destination. Pre-COVID, we were actually exploring that, to have a single night. It’s back on the drawing board and we have to think about it again,” he said.
Koff continued, saying that despite not having a single night or time slot to call their own, viewership numbers for the weekly television show are just as strong as other companies.
“I see the ratings and audience figures of my competitor and others that have single destination locations. While we may not be as high in reach as those stations, we are surprisingly much higher than people give us credit for. There are probably three to four hundred (thousand), maybe sometimes 500,000 households that watch Ring of Honor every week. It’s a big number. It’s over different channels and over different nights, but there’s real viewing going on,” he said.
Sinclair Broadcasting purchased ROH in 2011.
