Roddy Piper Apparently ‘Calls’ Vince McMahon From Hell
Vince McMahon is nothing if not self-aware.
In the latest sneak preview for the Roddy Piper biography on the A&E Network, Vince McMahon opens the preview joking that he’s getting a phone call from “The Rowdy One.” During this “phone call,” Vince asks Roddy how he is doing and if it is “warm down there.”
Continuing on, Vince would joke about his own Eternal resting place, saying, “Yeah, but not anytime soon. Oh, you’re holding a place for me? Right next to you at the table? Great,” before reassuring “Roddy” that he would only say good things about him.
Vince McMahon ended this bit by tossing his phone, laughing, and saying, “Roddy’s in heaven. Roddy’s not in hell.”
Roddy Piper was, of course, one half of the equation that really kick-started the Rock N’ Wrestling era in the 1980s. Piper and his feud with Hulk Hogan took center stage on MTV and eventually in the closed-circuit broadcast of the original WrestleMania in 1985.
Roddy Piper was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005 and passed away in 2015, shortly after the passing of Dusty Rhodes.
His episode of Biography will air on Sunday, April 25 at 8 pm ET. The Biography on Steve Austin would be the series best rating number in over a decade. Learn more here.
