The Rock Teases New Video Game Adaptation: ‘We’re Bringing One Of The Biggest, Most Badass Games To The Big Screen’
The Rock is about to bring one of the ‘ biggest and most badass’ video games to the big screen.
Future WWE Hall of Famer Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently spoke with Men’s Journal and announced that he’d be apart of a project that’ll see one of the biggest video games in the world to the big screen.
“I’ve always been a big Madden fan,” admitted Johnson. “I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen—one that I’ve played for years. I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world. Of course we’re going to do right by our gamer friends—but really we’re just going to make a great movie.”
Johnson is set to star in the upcoming comic book movie ‘Black Adam’ which is set to release on July 29, 2022. When asked about the training regimen ahead of his appearance in the movie, Johnson stated that him being around weight rooms his entire life due to his father being a professional wrestler prepared him for more rigorous workouts.
“I grew up going to the gym with my dad,” Johnson recalled. “When I was five years old, he’d let me watch him work out. When I was 12, I picked up my first weight. After that he’d take me on the wrestling mats and just beat the shit out of me. Back then, when I was going to the gym with my old man, I was around some of the biggest and baddest guys in the world. That includes my dad, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Tony Atlas, The Road Warriors. These dudes would come into the gym and turn that motherfucker out. They didn’t care who was around, or what was going on around them. Their focus was so intense. So training and training hard is in my blood. It’s in my DNA.”
The Rock has appeared in countless video games, dating back to the 1990s as a part of WWF simulations. In addition, there were numerous WWE video games named after his catchphrases in the 2000s.
