The Rock Reveals WWE Began Mass Producing Elbow Pads Once The People’s Elbow Became His Finisher
The Rock reveals just how many elbow pads he’s lost through the years.
The People’s Elbow is one of the most famous professional wrestling moves of all time. Birthed from a complete joke and an effort to make The Undertaker break character during live events, The Rock’s overdramatic elbow drop would go on to be a move that would finish countless Hall of Fame-level opponents and win many championships.
Shane Taylor, of Ring of Honor fame, recently tweeted that he was curious how many elbow pads The Rock lost through the years.
A man of the people, The Rock replied and revealed that WWE simply began manufacturing elbow pads once The People’s Elbow became a huge part of The Rock’s offense, and through the years, he had given away hundreds weekly.
Great question and I too, often intellectualize after my workout —
Once I started throwing the my elbow pads out into the crowd, we just started producing them (WWE). We sold them nightly as merch, and I, of course would toss them in my finish.
I also gave hundreds away weekly— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) November 9, 2021
The question still remains whether or not The Rock will ever drop a People’s Elbow on Roman Reigns. Most recently, The Rock stated that the door is always open but there are no plans as of right now. Learn more here.
