The Rock Reflects On Animal’s Passing, LeBron James Comments

Road Warrior Animal sadly passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 60, reportedly from natural causes. Alongside his partner Hawk, the Road Warriors were one of the most influential and decorated tag teams of all-time.

Taking to social media, The Rock reflected on Animal’s passing, telling how much Animal helped him during his early years in wrestling.

RIP brother. Really saddened to wake up to this news today — the passing of my friend, Joe Laurinaitis (on the left) aka ROAD WARRIOR ANIMAL. Joe & Mike aka HAWK & ANIMAL, THE ROAD WARRIORS were the most intense, legit tough bad asses tag team in the history of the wild world of pro wrestling. When I was making my bones, still learning the business in the WWE as a very young “The Rock” – I wrestled these guys so many times on the road and they always took good care of me and made sure I learned. The Rock feuded with Animal in 1997 as part of the Nation of Domination vs. LOD feud. The two men were on opposite sides of the ring at In Your House: Badd Blood and Survivor Series.

The Rock wasn’t the only major celebrity to reflect on Animal’s passing. NBA superstar LeBron James also took to social media to say the Road Warriors are his favorite team of all-time.
