The Rock Acknowledges The Tribal Chief, Says Roman Reigns And The Usos Are Thriving Atop WWE

The Rock officially acknowledges The Tribal Chief.

Roman Reigns says he is the Head of the Table when it comes to the Samoan Dynasty and the Anoa’i family. However, many wrestling fans have been waiting for the day he inevitably comes face-to-face with the most successful member of that family, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Much has been made about a potential match between the two men and it has always come down to the all-important element of timing before pen can be put to paper.

In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, The Rock was asked up front if he acknowledges his Tribal Chief and The Rock glowingly sang the praises of not only Roman Reigns, but Jimmy and Jey Uso and their ability to deliver strong performances during a time of uncertainty in WWE.

“Of course I do! That’s my family,” The Rock said when asked if he acknowledges The Tribal Chief. “I think those guys are doing a great job and I think — what an interesting shift that the company has gone through this year, unexpected in many ways. But when unexpectations happen in that kind of way, form, and fashion, especially in that business, you’ve got to have the ability and the agility to pivot, which they have. So with Roman, I think he’s doing a pretty good job and the boys, too, The Usos as well.”

The main shift WWE has undergone this year is the retirement of Vince McMahon and the promotion of Paul “Triple H” Levesque into the role of Chief Content Officer as he now oversees all creative.

As of now, nothing is set in stone regarding a future match between the two but both men have stated in the past that they would be open to having the match. Recently, Paul Heyman was quoted as saying that the match is simply a masturbatory fantasy for audience members until Dwayne Johnson signs his name on the contract. Read more here.
