Robbie Eagles States That Will Ospreay Is The Best Wrestler In The World

Robbie Eagles talking Will Ospreay and Bullet Club.

The 28-year old Australian star Robbie Eagles has went from rocking the colors of his home-country to sporting the black and white of Bullet Club. Robbie Eagles is a part of the 2018 Super Junior Tag tournament with one-third of the current NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions Taiji Ishimori. Eagles and Ishimori have history together as they have wrestled all over the world against and with each and this current run in New Japan Pro Wrestling is not Robbie Eagles’ first. The company came to Australia for a string of shows in February and it was there when Eagles made his presence felt.

A New Japan star who consistently wrestles in Australia is former multi-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay. Eagles recently shared his thoughts about Will Ospreay during an interview with NJPW and stated that the “Aerial Assassin” is the best in the world.

“It was a big chance for me [NJPW Australia shows], and a big challenge. Especially the three way, when I was in there on my own with people of the caliber of Cody and Ospreay, I really felt I had to represent Australian pro wrestling in general.” Eagles said. “I think those matches are a big reason why I’m able to compete in New Japan today.” Eagles continued, “In my opinion, he’s [Will Ospreay] the best wrestler in the world. To be so young and still have every single step of the game, from air to ground down, he’s the best. But don’t forget – I think he’s the best in the world: and I’ve tapped him out. I’m really excited to face him in New Japan one day.”

The interview also featured comments from Taiji Ishimori and Ishimori broke-down how his partnership with Robbie Eagles came to be. To read the full interview, click here.

On a related note, Will Ospreay is making the jump to the heavyweight division after years of being a junior heavyweight and his first test comes on November 2nd at ‘Power Struggle’ when he challenges Taichi for the NEVER Openweight Championship.
