Ring Of Honor Announces CMLL Wrestlers For Hammerstein Ballroom
Ring of Honor will be holding another event in the legendary venue.
In June, Ring of Honor is headed back to the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan. The promotion is advertising the event as having limited tickets and it will not be broadcasted on the Honor Club streaming service. It was also revealed that ROH invited Ultimo Guerrero and Titan from CMLL to the event. The following is an excerpt from the press release.
Ring of Honor’s International Television taping in the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom will add an international flavor when CMLL stars Titán and Ultimo Guerrero make their returns to ROH competition!
Titán has established himself as an international superstar using an arsenal of high-flying moves to propel himself to championships like the Mexican National Welterweight Championship while becoming a regular competitor in CMLL’s yearly FantasticaMania tours to New Japan. Titán made his ROH debut last summer, challenging KUSHIDA for the ROH World Television Championship and was last seen in a barn-burning instant classic on ROH Television teaming with Dragon Lee against Best Friends and The Young Bucks on ROH TV! One of the most in-demand high-flyers in the world, Titán returns to ROH in NYC!
Joining Titán is the legendary Ultimo Guerrero! Despite being a long-time villain in his native Mexico, the former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Guerrero is one of ROH fan’s most popular CMLL stars that compete in ROH! Guerrero was last seen at Manhattan Mayhem teaming with Jay Lethal against Dalton Castle and Volador Jr. While Guerrero remains one of the top stars in CMLL and has held nearly every championship there, he has never held ROH gold. Following that tag team clash, Guerrero briefly stole the ROH World Championship from Castle, holding it high before returning it. Guerrero has history with both Castle and his challenger in Lowell, long-time rival in both CMLL and ROH Matt Taven so Guerrero may be looking for a match with either man, with either potentially holding the World Championship!
Both Titan and Ultimo Guerrero have performed for Ring of Honor before and in the Hammerstein Ballroom before. Ultimo Guerrero was at Manhattan Mayhem earlier this year and Titan was at Final Battle 2017.
Ring of Honor is also currently on the War of the Worlds tour of which Fightful Wrestling has coverage.
