Rina Yamashita Suffers Fractured Ribs, Pulls Out Of GCW Dates For Rest Of November

Rina Yamashita announces that she has suffered an injury and will not be able to feature on upcoming GCW events.

Rina Yamashita has suffered an injury.

The GCW Ultraviolent champion took to social media on November 10th to announce that she had suffered fractured ribs and due to the injury, would be withdrawing from all events through to the end of November.

“I had pain around my ribs, and a detailed examination revealed that I had fractured my ribs. I will be absent from all GCW matches scheduled for November. We will make another announcement regarding the return of matches. We apologize to everyone who was looking forward to it, and to everyone involved in GCW who helped organize the schedule.”

In a second post to social media, Rina noted that the pain began in October, and did not show up on an x-ray.

“The pain started in mid-October. I took an X-ray immediately, but nothing showed up, so a thorough examination is important!”

Rina last competed on November 5th, defending her championship in FREEDOMs. She was originally scheduled to compete at GCW Going And Going, but had yet to be announced for GCW at WrestleCade Weekend.

Rina is currently scheduled for multiple appearances in December, but there has been no update on if she will be able to compete on those shows.

Yamashita has been Ultraviolent Champion since August 13th 2022 when she dethroned Alex Colon.
