Ricochet Was Prepared To Change His Name Going To NXT

Ricochet was ok with changing his name if he was asked to by WWE.

In January, WWE signed then independent wrestler Ricochet who had traveled all over the world with his wrestling name. Some wrestlers are given new names when coming to WWE and in an interview with Miami Herald Ricochet talked about that process.

“There was a little bit of talk about changing my name. I had a list of a couple of names that I had written down, because they told me I might have to change my name, which I was OK with,” said Ricochet.

In the end, Ricochet came to NXT as “Ricochet” and it was due to the wrestler owning the name.

“I got to keep it, because I already had the trademark in the wrestling world. I know it’s been trademarked a lot of other places, but within the wrestling world, it hadn’t been trademarked; so I had it actually trademarked,” said Ricochet.

At NXT Takeover Brooklyn 4, Ricochet earned his first Championship since being signed by WWE when he defeated Adam Cole for the NXT North American Championship

Fightful Wrestling had live coverage and a recapping podcast for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4.
