Ricky Starks On MJF’s Issues With AEW: Who Am I To Say Whether He’s Right Or Wrong?

Ricky Starks comments on MJF’s current status with AEW and his thoughts on former WWE Superstars joining the All Elite Wrestling roster.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman has not been seen in AEW since the Wednesday following AEW Double or Nothing 2022 where he stood in the middle of the ring and call Tony Khan a “fucking mark” while begging to be fired. Max has not been seen since that day and was removed from the AEW roster page.

Prior to then, Max openly discussed his frustration with the company, even saying in his final (for now) promo that perhaps he had to go to WWE, becoming a former WWE Superstar for Tony Khan to pay him more money.

During a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest, Ricky Starks briefly commented on MJF’s issues, saying that everyone is allowed to feel whatever they want based on their own personal experiences and did not feel he was qualified to say whether or not MJF is right or wrong in this instance.

“My opinion on it?  He wants more money, don’t we all? I mean, you know, people are due to their own feelings and their own experiences of a situation. Who am I to say that he’s right or wrong?”

Asked about his own feelings regarding former WWE Superstars joining the roster, Starks says he certainly doesn’t blame anybody for taking a contract but does not believe that where they worked beforehand should entitle them to any better treatment.

“Well, I mean, you wouldn’t turn down a contract offer if you left employment, right? So I mean, I don’t have any issues with that. It’s the idea that because of where you came from, that you are automatically better than the other talent that is at the new place,” he said. “That’s just not how it works and what happens is sometimes when you go into these places with that type of idea, you get exposed really quick when you get put up against somebody like myself, and it’s a huge stark contrast when that happens.”

To this day, Tony Khan has continuously refused to comment on MJF’s situation. However, one person that has spoken up is Wardlow, who, as of now, is the last person to wrestle Maxwell Jacob Friedman in AEW. Read Wardlow’s comments at this link.
