Ricky Morton Announces ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Express Farewell Tour’ Is Starting On 1/22/22
Rock ‘n’ Roll forever.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express started out as a tag team in Memphis, Tennessee as an alternative to The Fabulous Ones tag team which featured Steve Keirn and Stan Lane. Eventually, they became the blueprint for every highspot-focused babyface tag team that would follow.
From the Memphis territory, to the Mid-South territory, to Jim Crockett Promotions and just about every promotion, large or small that fans can think of from the last 30 years, Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson have continued to prove that rock and roll will live forever, but now, Ricky Morton says the end of the road is coming.
After a very successful career as a singles wrestler and as the tag team wrestler, Ricky Morton announced on Twitter on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, that the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express Farewell Tour will begin on January 22, 2022.
Rock & Roll Express Farewell tour begins January 22nd, 2022.
I want to focus more with Kerry and behind the scenes in the wrestling business.

No specific dates have been announced for the tour but Ricky Morton does say that he wants to spend more time with his son Kerry, who is a wrestler himself.
Ricky Morton later clarified that this retirement tour speaks specifically to his tag team with Robert Gibson and that he will still be continuing to appear on events wrestling alongside his son so that you can continue competing with the future of wrestling.
Specify, Robert and I are retiring from tag team wrestling together. Not appearances/signings.
I would like to continue to tag team with my son and work with the younger generation in this glorious business.— Ricky Morton (@RealRickyMorton) January 13, 2022
Ricky will be facing Matt Cardona at an upcoming GCW show. Learn more here.
