A24’s ‘The Iron Claw’ will highlight the tragic story of the Von Erich family, which is well-known in the wrestling world. The film stars Zac Efron, Lily James, and Jeremy Allen White, among others. The first trailer was released on October 11.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Flair reflected on working with the Von Erichs. Flair was then asked whether their work from the 1980s is in the mainstream now.
“The movie is actually 20 years too late. Unfortunately, wrestling historians like you guys, they all know the Von Erichs. A lot of people don’t know who the Von Erichs are. So it’s kind of like, this should have been done 20 years ago, and for whatever reason, it wasn’t. But really, in wrestling, I’m finding now, what’s old, a lot of it’s new, if we’re lucky enough and still alive to be part of it. Wrestling is wrestling, people love it,” Flair said.
The first trailer for ‘The Iron Claw’ can be seen here. The film is set to hit theaters in the United States on December 22.
