Ric Flair Appears At NWA 73; Thanks Vince McMahon, Says He May Have A Drink With Tony Khan
Ric Flair made his presence felt at NWA 73.
On Sunday, August 29, Ric Flair made his return to the NWA, giving a speech during their NWA 73 event. In it, he thanked Billy Corgan for giving him the platform to come out and speak freely. He then thanked Vince McMahon and said that even though Vince probably isn’t watching, he’ll hear about this. He also thanked Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Randy Orton, and many others.
Flair shared stories of his time in the NWA and spoke about the privilege and responsibility he felt as their champion. Ric is happy that the NWA is thriving and says that wrestling needs brands because not everyone can make it to WWE. He loves being able to go to Mexico, come to the NWA, and may even have a drink with Tony Khan this week.
Lastly, Flair thanked his family and noted how he wanted Randy Orton to break his title record until his daughter, Charlotte Flair, reached the 12 title mark.
Ric Flair started competing in the NWA in 1974 and remained a fixture until 1991. During that time, he won the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship 10 times. He was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2008.
Ric Flair says that he loves Vince McMahon and thanks him for everything.
