Rey Fenix Vacates Win Over Penta El Zero M, Penta To Face Kenny Omega On 10/28 AEW Dynamite
The family that fights together, forfeits together.
In the first round of the AEW World Title Number One Contenders Tournament, Rey Fenix defeated his Lucha Brother Penta El Zero M to advance to the semi-finals and a date with Kenny Omega.
However, Eddie Kingston and Fenix have now announced that Fenix has forfeited his victory due to injury. As a result, Penta will now face Omega in the semi-finals of the tournament on the October 28 episode of AEW Dynamite.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that Fenix suffered a neck injury during his bout against Penta. The report noted Fenix told friends he “was okay” but AEW management decided to pull him out of the match as a precautionary measure.
The bout between Penta and Omega was taped on Thursday.
