Review: Alberto Del Rio’s La Cantinita

From WWE Superstar to a restaurant owner, Alberto El Patron, or better known as Alberto Del Rioooooooooooo has opened up a new joint called "La Cantinita" in the San Antonio area. I went there last week at its grand opening, and I will share my thoughts on what I experienced from their first night of business.

The first thing that I noticed that it is very colorful. I'm talking about bright, pink, purple, yellow. The atmosphere seems very true to it's roots–like the live Mexican band there that were playing Tejano music, as well as today's pop hits. There were no signs of wrestling themes things except for mini wrestling rings set up on each table that hold your condiments, and inside each of these mini rings were these cool little luchadores doing "lucha things." Also, they have a "kid zone" area where you can drop them off to play NBA 2K on a pretty nice flat screen TV. Outside of the play room is a play area outside, kind of like a McDonald's Play Place. They had great customer service, and they accommodated my needs very well.

On to the food. It was good, but definitely not the greatest Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and beef tacos. The food came quickly — 15 minutes after the order was placed. Considering it was their first night, it was good and pretty reasonably priced too.

If you were wondering if Paige or Del Rio were there, I didn't see either of them, but they were both set for a signing over the weekend. They also promoted wrestling show with Chavo Jr, Alberto's father the great Dos Caras and Sicodelico. Also, Rey Mysterio Jr will be there on November 27th for a meet and greet.

Overall: Great music, good food, and a great atmosphere
