RETRIBUTION Abandons Mustafa Ali, Riddle Retains United States Championship At WWE Fastlane

RETRIBUTION has turned on its leader.

At WWE Fastlane, Riddle faced Mustafa Ali in a United States Championship Match. The two fought last week on Raw, but after coming up short, Ali blamed his faction-mates and demanded a rematch. Although he controlled a decent portion of their match this evening, he once again was unsuccessful. Riddle won the match after hitting a Bro Derek from the second rope.

After the match, Ali berated RETRIBUTION, but they had heard enough. First, Reckoning left the ring, then Slapjack. Finally, T-BAR and Mace delivered a double-chokeslam before walking out on Ali.

The news was broken today on Fightful Select:

Fightful has learned that there was a recent high-level pitch for Retribution, likely leading to a split or fracture of some sort. We’ve heard that tentative plans were put in order for as early this week. With the nature of WWE programming, this could be nixed completely.

T-BAR made some changes to his Twitter page this week, which raised some eyebrows. In addition to deleting all his tweets, changing his name to “Don’t Blink,” making his profile picture his eyes, and only following Mace’s personal account, his bio simply read, “Sunday.”

The faction debuted in August of 2020 and has had a spotty win/loss record in the months since. On October 5, 2020, it was revealed Mustafa Ali was the man behind RETRIBUTION and their destructive antics. He recently shared that he found out about being their leader on that same day.
