Report: XFL Trademarks Denied

The six XFL trademarks are too similar to WWE owned trademarks.

Earlier this year, Vince McMahon announced the return of the XFL in 2020. The venture was said to be separate from WWE and produced by a new company called Alpha Entertainment. According to PWInsider. Alpha Entertainment had six trademarks denied by the United States Patent and Trademark Office because WWE already had too similar trademarks from the first iteration of the XFL seventeen years ago

The new league was announced as a faster paced and more fan friendly league where all eight teams will be owned by the XFL. The season would be ten games long with a four team playoff.

McMahon and Triple H have said the involvement with XFL was a project of McMahon and not WWE as a whole and it would not affect the role of McMahon with WWE. A video of the XFL announcement can be seen at the top of this page.
