Report: WWE Willing To Double Any Offer Made By Other Promotions

WWE will not be outbid when it comes to securing talent.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has made it clear that they will beat anyone’s offer for talent. According to Meltzer, “WWE has told people if you can show on paper an offer from another company, they’ll beat it, even double it on the spot provided you sign immediately.”

An exception would appear to be Chris Jericho, who says he was never given an offer by WWE after revealing to Vince McMahon that he was planning on signing with All Elite Wrestling. You can view Jericho’s full comments on his meeting with WWE here.

The free agent wars have heated up over the last month with WWE, AEW, ROH, MLW, NJPW, IMPACT and more doing their best to lock up talent. Bandido reportedly turned down offers from WWE and AEW in order to sign with ROH. Piper Niven reportedly turned down an offer from AEW to sign a deal with WWE

WWE reportedly made big offers to Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page in order to prevent AEW from getting off the ground, but the group declined. Kenny Omega reportedly received a “fantastic offer” from WWE though he has not committed to any promotion as of now.

While WWE is reportedly willing to shell out big money for talent, some members of the current roster reportedly want out. The Revival and Mike & Maria Kanellis reportedly asked for their release this past week. Meanwhile, some in the company reportedly fear Dolph Ziggler will be finishing up at the end of the month.
