Report: WWE Planning Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins For WrestleMania 35

WWE has big plans for Seth Rollins for next year’s WrestleMania.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon is in “a shaking up plans mood” and now Rollins is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. This could potentially end up being a champion vs. champion match as Lesnar is the current Universal champion while Rollins is the WWE Intercontinental champion.

Rollins is scheduled to defend his title against Dean Ambrose at the upcoming WWE TLC show on December 16 in San Jose, California. Lesnar is not scheduled to appear on the show, but could potentially wrestle at the 2019 Royal Rumble show. Braun Strowman is scheduled to wrestle Baron Corbin at WWE TLC with the stipulation that if Strowman wins, he will face Lesnar for the Universal title at the Royal Rumble

While the report does not state if Lesnar is planned to beat Strowman, Meltzer wrote that the potential storyline between Lesnar and Rollins planned to utilize Roman Reigns in some manner with his leukemia diagnosis being a storyline topic going forward. The last time Lesnar and Rollins faced off against each other in a singles match on pay-per-view was in the main event of Battleground in 2015 with Lesnar picking up the win by disqualification due to the return of the Undertaker.

Interestingly enough, this would not be the first time Lesnar and Rollins faced off against each other at WrestleMania. Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract in the middle of Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight title defense against Reigns at WrestleMania 31 with Rollins winning the title. WrestleMania 35 is currently scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7, 2019.
