Report: VICE TV Working On Vince McMahon Documentary, Set To Air In October

VICE TV, the home of the popular Dark Side of the Ring series, is reportedly working on a Vince McMahon documentary.

VICE TV, the home of the popular Dark Side of the Ring series, is reportedly working on a Vince McMahon documentary.

In June, the Wall Street Journal reported the WWE board was investigating McMahon for a $3 million settlement that he reportedly agreed to pay to a departing employee he allegedly had an affair with.

The Wall Street Journal released another report in July, which stated that McMahon “agreed to pay more than $12 million over the past 16 years to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity.” These payments reportedly came alongside agreements that prohibited the recipients, women who were formerly associated with WWE, “from discussing potential legal claims against or their relationships.”

McMahon initially stepped back from his duties for the duration of the investigation, but he announced his retirement on July 22. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were named the new co-CEOs. Triple H was then named the head of WWE creative on July 25.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that VICE TV is currently producing a new documentary about McMahon, which will cover the former WWE Chairman’s career and his retirement. Johnson wrote that the documentary will air in October.

Meanwhile, Netflix is reportedly moving forward with its Vince McMahon docuseries. More information is available here. Additionally, a previous report revealed that HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel has been working on a potential story about the McMahon allegations.

Fightful will continue to monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.
