Report: Two Writers Released From WWE Creative Team

More names released from WWE creative.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Steve Guerreri and Steve Oppenheim were recently let go from their positions on the WWE creative team. Guerreri had been with WWE since 2012 and was the co-lead writer of SmackDown. Oppenheim had been with the company since 2011 and was the lead writer for Raw, though he worked in-office at WWE headquarters in Stamford.

No reason was given for their departures.

Satin goes on to report that new executive director of Raw, Paul Heyman, and new executive director of SmackDown, Eric Bischoff, were not part of the decision to release Oppenheim and Guerreri. Heyman began working as executive director a few weeks ago while Bischoff will take part in his first production meeting ahead of tomorrow night’s SmackDown.

WWE has had plenty of creative departures this year with Kazeem Famuyide, Dave Schilling, and R.D. Evans all leaving the creative team. Old faces such as Bruce Prichard and Jeff Jarrett have been added to the creative department.
