Report: Tian Bing, Jason Cheng And Gabriel Ealy Released From Their NXT Developmental Contracts
Three NXT talents were let go under the radar.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently brought to light that three NXT talents were released from their contracts and there was no major mention of it. Tian Bing, Jason Cheng and Gabriel Ealy were all let go from the company.
The 24-year old Tian Bing was the first wrestler who hails from mainland China to compete for WWE. Tian was signed to the sports-entertainment company in the summer of 2016 and he made his NXT TV debut in that same summer in a first-round matchup in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. Bing was recently featured on the latest episode of NXT TV when he and ‘Rocky’ were quickly defeated by Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.
Jason Cheng, real-name Cheng Yuxiang along with Tian Bing was one of seven Chinese athletes signed to NXT developmental deals in 2016. Yuxiang made his NXT TV debut in 2017 and throughout the year into 2018 he competed at NXT house shows on the Florida circuit.
Gabriel Ealy of the former NXT tag team ‘The Ealy Brothers’ was also released. Gabriel and his brother Uriel both started in NXT in 2016 and made a number of appearances on NXT TV throughout their run on the black-and-yellow brand. This past June it was confirmed that Uriel Ealy was released from his NXT contract and just four months later Gabriel Ealy has been released from his.
