Shad Gaspard To Receive 2022 Warrior Award

Shad Gaspard will be honored during the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame.

As first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Shad Gaspard will receive the 2022 Warrior Award.

Shad Gaspard to receive 2022 Warrior Award at WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Shad Gaspard has been posthumously named the recipient of the 2022 Warrior Award. Named after WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior, The Warrior Award is presented to an individual who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance and who lives life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of The Ultimate Warrior. The news was first reported by Foxsports.com.

The Warrior Award presentation will be part of the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Friday, April 1, at American Airlines Center in Dallas as part of WrestleMania Week. The event will stream live exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and WWE Network everywhere else.

Gaspard tragically passed away in May 2020 after being caught in a rip current in Venice Beach while saving his son. In the wrestling world, he was part of Cryme Tyme with JTG.

The Warrior Award is “presented to an individual who has exhibited unwavering strength and perseverance” and who has lived life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of The Ultimate Warrior.

Titus O’Neil won the award in 2021.

The award was established in 2015 with Connor “The Crusher” Michalek, Joan Lunden, Eric LeGrand, Jarrius “JJ” Robertson, Sue Aitchison and Rich Hering are past recipients along with O’Neil.

The Undertaker, Vader, and Sharmell have been announced for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class. The ceremony will air on April 1 on Peacock following WWE SmackDown.
