Report: NXT Looking To Expand Internationally; Push Made For Two Hours Of Television

NXT is looking to expand in more ways than one.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE is looking to expand the brand with the new television revenue coming in. The idea going around is for more international Performance Centers and territories. As previously reported, WWE is holding tryouts in Chile and Germany this winter.

The brand currently has ties to the United Kingdom with Pete Dunne holding the NXT UK Title and the airing of multiple NXT UK specials. Episodes for a new NXT UK show have been taped, teased, and are reportedly “coming soon” but no date has been announced.

In other NXT news, Meltzer also reports that some within the company are pushing for NXT TV to expand to two hours and to increase the length of TakeOver specials due to the amount of talent on the brand. NXT shows are currently one hour in length and air every Wednesday on the WWE Network. TakeOver specials have grown from two hours to two and a half hours with recent events, not including the pre-show.
