It is unclear if 205 Live will resume in 2020. The show has undergone multiple changes since SmackDown moved to Fridays on Oct. 4. 205 Live did not air on Oct. 4 or Nov. 22. There was no reason given as to why the Oct. 4 episode was canceled, though it was the SmackDown on Fox premiere night. WWE had been advertising matches for the show earlier in the day before making the decision to not air a new episode. The Nov. 22 episode was reportedly canceled due to the SmackDown show-closing angle featuring an NXT invasion.

On Nov. 6, the show was taped at Full Sail University and aired on Nov. 8 following SmackDown. The Nov. 8 SmackDown aired on a tape delay from Manchester.

The WWE Cruiserweight Championship was rebranded as the NXT Cruiserweight Championship earlier this year and is regularly defended on NXT.
