Report: Multiple Promotions Including WWE Have Contacted Mike Tenay About Coming Out Of Retirement

Mike Tenay is a hot commodity.

Mike Tenay has been heavily scouted recently.

Mike Tenay has had a legendary career in the commentary booth. Tenay has been on the call for some of the most iconic moments in both WCW and TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. In 2016, Tenay quietly retired from the business and hasn’t called a match since then.

According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tenay has received multiple offers to come out of retirement including from companies such as Major League Wrestling and Game Changer Wrestling, who have offered him a possible role in the booth. Meanwhile, WWE has reportedly reached out to Tenay to offer him a role in documentaries. According to the report, Tenay declined all of them, as he is enjoying retirement and has no financial burdens.

Tenay reportedly said that while he won’t ever rule out a return to the commentary desk, he hasn’t felt like any of the offers were timed right or were the right place.

Fightful will continue to give out updates on Tenay’s status in the industry as they are made available.

Tenay’s long time partner in the booth Don West has recently been dealing with multiple health issues, including being diagnosed with cancer for the second time. Click here to learn more about West’s quest to kick cancer’s ass.
